It is always interesting to see where the upcoming rookies are selected in fantasy drafts, especially before the actual NFL Draft even takes place.

In five games with Edmonds inactive last year, Conner saw his targets per game climb from 1.3 to 5.4, while his receptions per game went from 1.2 with Edmonds active to 5.0 with him out of the lineup.

And now with Edmonds gone, we could see more consistent usage in the passing game.

Conner already finished second in the NFL in carries inside the 5-yard line a year ago (16), while scoring 18 total touchdowns. But in this draft, Conner came off the board at the end of the fourth round as the RB19, which really stood out. Now back with the Cardinals (and with Chase Edmonds in Miami), James Conner should be viewed as a borderline top-12 fantasy running back. James Conner, RB, Arizona Cardinals (4.10) There is a chance Buffalo addresses the running back position in the draft, but as of now, Singletary should be drafted way before the eighth round. He was the RB6 in fantasy during those seven games and it was legitimately shocking to see Singletary find the end zone. Singletary posted a 74% snap share during the final seven weeks, while logging a total of 128 snaps during that stretch, the sixth-most among running backs. And keep in mind that Moss was healthy for most of those games but was inactive. During that span, he also scored the second-most rushing touchdowns in the league (5), while his 29 red zone carries were good for third-most in football. From Week 12 on, he ranked seventh among all running backs in both carries (105) and rushing yards (455). We saw a mini-breakout from Singletary last season, particularly down the stretch. But as it stands right now, Devin Singletary is the clear led back on one of the five best offenses in football. Devin Singletary, RB, Buffalo Bills (8.09)Īgain, it is March, which means a lot will change. With Joe Burrow under center and improvements being made to the offensive line, this offense should rank at least top 10 in scoring chances, which will help Higgins. Two huge reasons behind this: They had so many drives ended by sacks, and they also scored plenty of plays from long distance - only the Rams scored more touchdowns of at least 40 yards than the Bengals last year (16). But despite how high-powered their offense was, the Bengals ranked just 17th in red zone scoring trips per game (3.1). And despite missing three games, Higgins still saw 11 end zone targets, good for 10th in football. On a per-game basis in 2021, Higgins was the WR13. He’s my WR11 at the moment, so seeing him selected as the WR15 definitely stood out to me. If you take a look at my WR Rankings at FTNFantasy, you’ll see that I am high on Tee Higgins. Top Values Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals (4.03) And the second Gordon signs elsewhere (if that happens), Williams won’t just be a top-20 choice in fantasy drafts, but he’ll be off the board within the first seven choices with ease. But in the one game Gordon missed last year, Denver used Williams as an every-down back, as he recorded 23 carries and six receptions in a game against the Chiefs, recording 178 total yards and a touchdown. During his rookie season, Williams and Gordon split work, with the rookie ultimately averaging just under 12 carries per game. The latter is honestly one of the best selections of the draft and while there is still a bit of uncertainty surrounding the status of Melvin Gordon in Denver, Williams should be a top-20 selection regardless. I thought there was a ton of great value in this round, especially Travis Kelce at 2.06 and Javonte Williams at 2.11. If you look at the draft board, you will see a handful of names that you have grown accustomed to seeing in the first round of fantasy drafts, such as Saquon Barkley, Ezekiel Elliott and Alvin Kamara. Meanwhile, the second round was very interesting. Cooper Kupp, meanwhile, was selected third overall and I honestly wouldn’t argue with anyone who wanted to draft him with the first overall selection. This is a three-receiver league, however, which pushes the position up the draft board. For instance, I have Ja'Marr Chase ranked ahead of Hill, who came off the board to start the second round. Of course, both players are still the elite of the elite at the wide receiver position but now on new teams for the first time in their careers, it is very fair to wonder if they belong in the second round. The opening round of this draft wasn’t too crazy, but it was a bit interesting to see both Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill stay in the first round.
